Our Chalets 1 and Chalet 3:
An authentic farm experience with the possibility of engaging with our gentle giant Percheron called Galleon, awaits you and your family. Located on either side of The Lodge, 2 identical riverside chalets sleep 8 each.

Downstairs:
2 bedrooms sleeping 4 people, and can be configured to twin or kingsize beds.
A full bathroom plus a separate shower and a separate toilet.
Adjacent to a fully equipped kitchenette is an open-plan dining and sitting room in the center of which is a freestanding fireplace.
Upstairs:
4 single beds accommodate guests on a mezzanine floor with dormer windows with views of the mountain.
Outside:
Each chalet has its own private fire pit.
Overlooking the river, they are suitable for cooking under the stars in fair weather. They are built from the bricks salvaged from chalet 2 when it burnt down.

Our Pricing
R380.00 per person per night
R250.00 for children under 12 years old. Babies under two stay free
A minimum of R1140.00 per night out of season and R2280.00 per night in season and long weekends.
Please note that fishing fees, boat hire and wood purchased on the farm for the fire pits and fire places is not included in our rates.
Kindly bring cash for this and settle this account prior to departure.

Check in is after 2pm and check out is strictly before 10am, unless prior arrangements have been made.

More than 30 days prior to arrival: 10% cancellation fee
More than 15 days prior to arrival: 50% cancellation fee
Less than 15 days prior to arrival: 100% cancellation fee

Wonderful
The location was great! Easy to find but far enough off of the beaten track to enjoy the peace and quiet.
We loved the lake and rowing through the little canals to get there. Seeing some birds near the lake was a special treat. The hike up Crocodile Hill was short but delightful. The kitchen had all the equipment necessary for good food preparation. The beds were comfortable and ample additional blankets were available.
Finally, Farouk remains one of the best hosts I’ve encountered!

Everything 🙂 Such a peaceful environment surrounded by the lakes and mountains. We particularly enjoyed sitting by a fireplace in the evening and hearing all the nature sounds. It was soooo refreshing and relaxing. And of course, not forget to mention Farouk. He was so friendly, welcoming and going an extra mile in accommodating our needs. We’ll be back for sure! 🙂
